Josep Pascual i Triay
Josep Pascual is a composer and a music critic. He publishes articles about the news of present music, critical recording music, and analysis of works, styles and authors in the most important specialized national magazines. He has also published pedagogical books about music and is a co-author of diverse works and musical release publications. Since they were known, as far back as the year 1998, the collaboration between this recognized composer and Manuel Babiloni has been constant.
Pascual has an extensive catalog of works for guitar dedicated to Babiloni, such as “Sonata No. 1″ (included in Babiloni’s 2nd CD “Sonatina”), “Tríptic of Vilafamés” (composed and first performed at the framework of the International Guitar Course, that Babiloni offers every summer in this town), “Suite Antiga”, “Presque Mélodies” (recorded on various television media and published in the Japanese magazine Guitar Dream), “Sonata No. 2″, “Segon Tríptic de Vilafamés”, etc ., in which the melodic speech is masterfully combined melody with the use of guitar resources, resulting in pieces of exquisite sensitivity.
“Sonata Sakura”, by Keigo Fujii
In April 2010, the great Japanese guitarist and composer Keigo Fujii presented the score of his “Sakura Sonata”, second piece written for Manuel Babiloni.
Several years earlier, Keigo Fujii had already written another work for Manuel Babiloni entitled “Twilight. Homage to Jose Luis González”, on the occasion of the death of this great guitar player, who was the Master of both.
